TRANSFORM CHAOS INTO DELIGHT.
My passion is for guiding interdisciplinary teams through the creation and distribution of innovative products, services, and experiences that make all of our lives better. I enjoy helping businesses innovate and grow in turbulent conditions by moving flexibly across barriers to transform chaos into delight. Taking holistic responsibility for delivering the right solution at the right time is my stock-in-trade.
I’ve spent the last decade sharpening my T-shaped skills — across technology, media, business, and design — in chaotic, early-stage environments. Prior to leading product strategy as a product manager at an enterprise software company in Silicon Valley, I led customer development for a VC-backed consumer transportation startup. Before that, I managed new projects for The Aspen Institute and the International Myeloma Foundation and developed new television programs and digital strategies for HBO and other television networks. Motivated to be a more adaptable contributor to the early stages of high-growth startups, I studied engineering, business, and design at Carnegie Mellon University, where I earned my master’s degree in Integrated Innovation for Products and Services. Originally from Texas, I received my Bachelor of Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, where I studied business and geography.
Here are three of many hats I wear on my mission to make the world more flexible and enjoyable:
Entrepreneur
I am building a relocation network that helps people in transition move together. I have reimagined relocation, so that young people can connect to new destinations more fully.
Product Leader
I am guiding interdisciplinary teams through the creation and distribution of innovative products, services, and experiences that delight users and help companies grow.
Business Designer
I am collaborating with business owners to understand their challenges, develop insights, define growth opportunities, and prioritize goals, so they can get new offerings to market.
I am HOPEFUL in uncertainty.
In thinking about the authentic qualities that make me “me”, I am comfortable boiling it all down to seven core values.
Honor. I believe there’s honor in anything that’s honest, and I act accordingly. My strength is driven by my ability to build trust and earn respect from the people around me.
Optimism. I am determined to accelerate progress towards a better future. The future will be better, because there are things I am doing right now to make it better.
Play. Computers compute and people play. If we’re not having fun, something’s wrong.
Enthusiasm. I enjoy making full use of my powers along lines of excellence, and I trust myself to take intelligent risks with complete freedom from fear of failure. I’m occasionally wrong but never in doubt.
Foresight. This is my superpower: making conceptual leaps to reach unseen, future possibilities.
Urgency. Complacency doesn’t stand a chance against speed and stealth. I pursue my vision every day with sustained focus and bias towards action.
Leadership. Innovation is a team sport that’s best played by listening and guiding, rather than commanding and controlling. I think of my style as that of the quarterback of a really confident football team: a leader on the front lines who sees the whole field, iterates the strategy, and adapts on the fly to move the ball doggedly forward.
